Eating together means we accept love. Is this idea correct? In the eyes of Vishnu and Charak Smriti, it is really different!
Our Indians’ food is not just for filling the stomach, it is also a kind of practice. There are many customs and traditions in our country. That is why people eat food from the same plate to express love. They think that eating food from the same plate increases their love. But the scriptures say something different.
All these scriptures say that after marriage, husband and wife should not eat food together, from the same plate at all. This increases poverty. The husband’s life expectancy may be short and even unrest in the family may increase. However, after the husband eats, the wife can eat food from a separate plate. However, these rules are not followed these days. It is considered inauspicious.
Not only scriptures, science also says the same thing to some extent — eating food from the same plate can cause spit or hair from the other person to get mixed in the food. Which is a source of bacteria and viruses. It becomes very unhealthy. As a result, a person can get sick.
Again, hair falling in food is not considered auspicious in Sanatan Dharma. It can also cause problems related to Pitru Dosha, Rahu and Ketu.

In today’s era, sitting and eating together, having fun makes these relationships deeper. That’s why no one follows the scripture rules. It is very difficult to say whether it will be inauspicious if the rules are not followed or not, but if awareness and respect are maintained, modernity is also respected along with scripture.
Food is not only nutrition, it is a reflection of the mind and relationship. It is also important to see who you are eating with and how you are eating.
