Objectives of Vahil Dikri Yojana
Vahil Dikri Yojana is mainly built on the following objectives:
1. Encouraging the birth of girls
In many parts of society, parents still prefer sons. Through this scheme, the birth of girls is celebrated and encouraged, and the trend of abortion is reduced.
2. Ensuring girls’ education
In many cases, girls are admitted to school but are unable to continue their education up to higher education. This scheme provides financial assistance at various stages of education and encourages families to send their daughters to school.
3. Preventing Illegal Marriage
Child marriage is still a big problem in many areas. Through the Vahil Dikri Yojana, incentives are provided to girls not to marry until the legal age.
4. Women’s Empowerment
The long-term goal is to ensure that girls achieve higher education and employment, so that they can build an independent life.

Vahil Dikri Yojona Financial Assistance Structure At Different Age Stages
A total of ₹1,10,000 is provided for each girl. This amount is distributed in various stages:
- At the time of admission to Class I – ₹4,000. Assistance is provided for the purchase of books, uniforms, and other educational materials.
- At the time of admission to class 9 – ₹6,000. Financial assistance is provided to reduce the family expenses while entering secondary education.
- At the age of 18, ₹1,00,000, Financial assistance is provided for higher education or marriage (if unmarried), which helps in shaping the future of the girl child.
Vahil Dikri Yojona Age Limit
Girls born on or after 02-08-2019 are eligible to avail financial assistance.
Other Eligibility Condition
- The girls must be residents of Gujarat.
- She should have a bank account
- She should be one of the first two girl children of the family.
- Family income should be below ₹2 lakh.
Vahil Dikri Yojona Application Process
Step 1: The application form is available for collection at the Anganwadi Centre, Gram Panchayat Office, CDPO (ICDS) Office, or the District Women and Child Development Officer’s Office.
Step 2: The applicant must duly fill in the application form and enclose all requisite supporting documents.
Step 3: Submit the completed application form along with the necessary documents to the same office.
Step 4: The submitted applications and documents will undergo scrutiny by authorized officials.
Step 5: The applicant will be notified via SMS regarding their eligibility status.
Step 6: Upon final approval, financial assistance will be directly transferred to the beneficiary’s bank account.
