New Delhi:

The Supreme Court has once again given clear orders on the recruitment of teachers in primary schools. On the issue of recruitment of DLA trainees who passed TET 2022, the court said that there is no more delay, the state and the board will have to take action within the next six weeks.

Earlier on April 4 this year, the Supreme Court had said that it is possible to recruit trainees for the 2,200 posts that were vacant at that time. But even after five months, the order was not implemented, so the job seekers approached the court again.

On Friday, the case was heard in a bench of Justice PS Narasimha and Justice Atul S Chandukar. There, the board’s lawyer Jaydeep Gupta said that the process of implementing the verdict will be started after discussing with the state. At that time, the court made it clear that not only the discussion, but the work must be completed within a specified time frame.

Among the lawyers of the candidates, S Pardiwala requested the court to fix a time frame of six weeks. On the other hand, senior lawyer Indira Jaising raised the question, “What if a new case has to be filed after six weeks?” In response, the court said that wasting time in the name of discussion is absolutely unacceptable. The order must be followed and the entire work must be completed within six weeks.

In 2022, the state had initially issued a notification for recruitment to about 11,000 vacancies. However, even after giving opportunity to TET-passed trainees, some posts remained vacant. This time, the Supreme Court has issued strict instructions to the state government and the board to fill those vacancies.
