PSSSB Senior Assistant Eligibility Criteria 2026

Candidates must meet the required educational qualifications and other eligibility conditions before applying for the Senior Assistant post.

Educational Qualification

1. Bachelor’s Degree

Candidates must possess a Bachelor’s Degree from a recognized university or institution.

2. Computer Qualification

Candidates must have either of the following:

• A minimum 120-hour computer course with practical experience from a government-recognized or ISO 9001 certified institute

OR

• An ‘O’ Level Certificate from DOEACC (NIELIT), Government of India

3. Typing Test Requirement

Candidates must qualify a computer-based typing test in both English and Punjabi.

• Typing Speed: 30 words per minute (WPM)

4. Punjabi Language Requirement

PSSSB Senior Assistant Selection Process 2026

The recruitment process consists of three stages.

1. Written Examination

The first stage is an objective-type written test (MCQ-based).

• A merit list will be prepared based on the marks obtained in this exam.
• There will be negative marking of 0.25 marks for each incorrect answer.

2. Typing Test

Candidates who qualify the written examination will be called for a computer-based typing test.

Typing requirements:

• English Typing Speed: 30 WPM
• Punjabi Typing Speed: 30 WPM
• Font: Unicode compliant Raavi font

This test is qualifying in nature, meaning candidates only need to pass it.

3. Document Verification

Candidates who successfully clear both stages will be called for document verification.

PSSSB Senior Assistant Salary

The Senior Assistant post falls under Pay Matrix Level-6 of the Punjab Government.

Initial Basic Pay: ₹35,400 per month
