NIB Recruitment 2026 Eligibility Criteria

Candidates must ensure that they meet the required educational qualifications, experience, and age criteria for the respective posts.

Scientist Grade-II (Medical)

Qualification

• MBBS degree
• Postgraduate medical degree in a relevant field such as Microbiology, Pharmacology, or similar discipline

Experience

• Minimum 5 years of relevant experience after completing the PG degree

Age Limit

• Maximum 45 years

Scientist Grade-II (Non-Medical)

Qualification

• Master’s degree in a relevant science subject such as Microbiology, Biochemistry, Biotechnology with minimum 60% marks

OR

• Ph.D. in a relevant discipline

Experience

• 7 years of relevant research experience
  OR
• 3 years of experience after Ph.D.

Desirable

• At least 5 scientific publications

• 45 years

Scientist Grade-III (Veterinary)

Qualification

• M.V.Sc degree in Veterinary Medicine, Microbiology, Public Health, or related field

Experience

• Minimum 2 years of veterinary practice or laboratory experience

Junior Scientist

Qualification

• Master’s degree in Microbiology, Biotechnology, Biochemistry, or related discipline

Experience

• At least 1 year of experience in quality control, research, or scientific review

NIB Recruitment 2026 Selection Process

The selection process varies depending on the post.

Scientist Grade-II & III

1. Computer Based Test (CBT) – Objective type
2. Personal Discussion

Candidates shortlisted in a 1:10 ratio will be called for personal discussion.

Final merit will be based on:

• CBT Score – 40% weightage
• Credentials (Experience/Publications) – 30%
• Personal Discussion – 30%

Junior Scientist & Laboratory Technician

1. Computer Based Test (CBT)

Qualifying marks:

• 50% for General/EWS/OBC
• 40% for SC/ST

Final merit list will be prepared based on CBT score.

Administrative Assistant & Assistant-II

1. Computer Based Test (CBT)
2. Skill Test (Typing)

Candidates will be shortlisted for the typing test in a 1:5 ratio.

The skill test is qualifying in nature.

Junior Hindi Translator

1. Paper-I – Computer Based Test (Objective)
2. Paper-II – Descriptive Test

Paper-II includes:

• Translation
• Precis Writing
• Essay Writing

Final merit will be based on Paper-II marks.

NIB Recruitment Exam Pattern (General)

• Computer Based Test will contain objective-type questions
• Negative marking: 0.25 marks for each incorrect answer
