Eligibility Criteria for HP JBT Recruitment 2026
Applicants must fulfill both age limit and educational qualification requirements before applying.
Age Limit (as on 01 January 2026)
- Minimum Age: 18 years
- Maximum Age: 45 years
Age Relaxation
Candidates belonging to SC/ST/OBC/PwD categories who are domiciles of Himachal Pradesh will receive 5 years of age relaxation. Similar relaxation applies to HP government employees and ex-servicemen of the state.
Educational Qualification
Candidates must possess any one of the following qualifications and must also have passed the Teacher Eligibility Test (TET):
• 10+2 with 50% marks and 2-year JBT/Diploma in Elementary Education (D.El.Ed)
• 10+2 with 45% marks and 2-year JBT/D.El.Ed as per NCTE regulations 2002
• Senior Secondary with 50% marks and 4-year Bachelor of Elementary Education (B.El.Ed)
• Graduation with 2-year JBT/D.El.Ed
Additionally, candidates must have qualified the TET exam conducted by the Himachal Pradesh Board of School Education or any authorized agency.

- Candidates must have completed Matriculation and 10+2 from institutions located in Himachal Pradesh (except for bonafide Himachalis).
- 5% relaxation in marks is available for SC/ST/OBC/PwD candidates.
