Serves 1 cup

Ingredients

  1. 1.5 cups water
  2. 5-6 fresh basil leaves (or 1 teaspoon dried basil)
  3. 1 inch ginger (crushed)
  4. 4 black peppercorns (powdered)
  5. 1 small cinnamon stick
  6. 1-2 cloves
  7. ¼ teaspoon turmeric powder (or fresh turmeric pieces)
  8. ½ teaspoon mulethi powder or stalk pieces (optional)

Preparation Method

  1. Boil all the ingredients in water in a pot.
  2. Let it boil on medium heat for 10-15 minutes, until the water reduces to one cup.
  3. Strain and drink hot.
  4. When it cools down slightly, you can add a few drops of honey (but do not add honey while it is boiling).

It is best to drink it once a day in the morning or evening during the rainy season.
