Both the opposition and the ruling parties in Andhra Pradesh have unanimously praised the GST 2.0 reforms.
On Monday, former Chief Minister and YSR Congress President Y. S. Jagan Mohan Reddy called it a “revolutionary step towards a simple and fair tax system”.
According to Jagan, the reforms will make goods and services more accessible and affordable for the common man. He said “There may be some flaws or complaints, but it is an ongoing process. Ultimately, the benefits will reach both the consumers and the investors.”
On the other hand, ruling Telugu Desam Party (TDP) leader and Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu also described the Prime Minister’s initiative as a “visionary step”. He thanked Narendra Modi for the launch of GST 2.0 and said “This is a double joy for the people during the festive season. The tax slabs have been reduced to just two – 5% and 18%. And almost 99% of essential items are now under the 5% tax bracket.”
According to Naidu, the reform will reduce the cost of living of the middle class, poor, farmers, women and the youth, ease business and attract new investments.
