Why are experts warning?

Experts say that this fun trend actually poses a risk of personal information leakage. Which is really scary.

Metadata, such as location tags, can be left unknowingly when uploading pictures. Many are using fake websites or unofficial apps, where personal images and data can easily fall into the hands of hackers. It is also possible to change the watermarks that are used to identify AI-generated content.

In a Wired report, Reality Defender CEO Ben Coleman clearly stated —

While watermarking may seem promising at first, in reality it can be easily faked or removed. UC Berkeley professor Hani Farid also warned — Watermarks may help, but they never guarantee security.

IPS officer V.C. Sajjanar has issued a warning on Twitter. In his words—

He urged users to stay away from fake websites or apps. He said —
