Asia Cup 2025 Bangladesh vs Hong Kong

Bangladesh started their first match on the Asia Cup stage with confidence. The Tigers started their journey in the tournament by defeating Hong Kong by a big margin of 7 wickets in the opening match of the group stage. Liton Das’s stormy half-century and young Tohi Hridoy’s responsible batting were the key to ensuring the victory in the match.

Hong Kong to bat first

Bangladesh won the toss and decided to bowl. The bowlers started attacking as soon as they got the ball. Hong Kong could never gain momentum in the innings as they lost wickets at regular intervals. However, Nizakat Khan, Zeeshan Ali and Yasmin Mortaza fought for the team. In the end, their innings ended at 143 runs for the loss of 7 wickets in 20 overs. Taskin Ahmed, Tanjim Hasan Shakib and legspinner Rishad Hossain took two wickets each for Bangladesh.

Easy win with Liton’s bat

Chasing the target, Bangladesh started well but took wickets quickly. Opener Parvez Hossain Emon made a good start by hitting two consecutive boundaries at the beginning of the innings, but he could not last long. Although the pressure was increasing on one side, Liton Das took the rush of the match into his own hands with aggressive batting on the other end. He put Bangladesh on the path to victory.

Along with Liton, Tohi Hridoy also played a very cool innings of 35 runs. The match was practically over with the pair of the two. In the end, the Tigers reached the target with 14 balls in hand and lost 3 wickets.
