Russia’s far eastern coast witnessed a massive 8.8-magnitude earthquake at 6.57 AM in the Kamchatka Peninsula region. The Pacific region witnessed one of the global seismic events in recent history. The violent shock waves were felt in the Pacific region, and as a result tsunami alert has been triggered across multiple nations while evacuation processes are started. Still now no casualties have been reported.

It is uncertain how big the tsunami could be, but safety protocols are being carried over across Pacific countries. US warning centres forecast the estimated times when the tsunami is expected to strike.

Washington and Oregon are also on alert, as the geographical position of these two states on the US West Coast. The tsunami could arrive between 2.35 am and 2.55 am ET. A tsunami could strike the coastal area of Northern California starting at 2.50 AM ET, then San Francisco around 3:40 am ET, and Southern California beaches around 4:00 am ET.

The National Weather Service said A tsunami advisory is in effect for all coastal areas in the Bay Area and Central Coast, San Francisco, and San Pablo Bays. The authority alerted the citizen to stay alert and avoid the area of beaches and coastal areas until further notice.
